These drill bits have a standard HSS 118º tip geometry, suitable for wood, metal & plastics.

The important difference is the coating of Titanium Nitride (TiN), an extremely hard material.

This significantly reduces friction and any overheating at the cutting edges, and thus reduces wear. This is particularly common when drilling very tough materials such as good quality MDF and harder steels. The result is far longer drill bit life.
